Housing Strategies, Inc., is a Vermont real estate development and consulting firm. Peter Richardson formed HSI in 1996 when he relocated from Boston to Burlington, Vermont.
Recent real estate projects are mixed-use and residential developments, both historic rehabilitation and new construction. HSI's consulting work focuses on affordable housing finance and frequently involves collaboration with other nationally-known professionals.
Recent clients include for-profit and nonprofit developers, other financial and advisory firms, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Many engagements involve workouts and restructuring large, complex affordable housing projects, including transfers of HUD-assisted properties to nonprofit purchasers.
